We recommend hand-washing the hylo LEGACY. Using a soapy water solution, brush the upper’s surface until dirt and stains are removed.

We replace the industry-standard polyester with PLA in different applications - predominantly, in a knitted upper construction as well as a soft, spingy midsole to ensure a breathable and lightweight feel.
✖EVA is a material we want to find an alternative for. It currently provides cushioning and shock absorption in the LEGACY’s midsole.
✖Renewable & bio-based. We remove synthetic rubber and use this naturally-produced alternative, predominantly derived from the native Brazilian plant Hevea brasiliensis. Increases tear resistance.
✖Used in the bio-based overlays and outsole to create consistency of performance and maintain the shoe’s structural integrity.
✖Our usage of recycled polyester is something we want to reduce. However, its performance credentials are required for strength and durability while reducing our reliance on virgin polyester.
✖Built on biomechanics research this material is light, spongy, supportive and breathable. Used in our insole. We are working to decrease our usage of this non-renewable material.
✖Mixed with corn-derived PLA for lateral and medial reinforcement - a planet-friendly alternative to standard polyester. Used in our internal reinforcement.
✖Part of HyphaLite™, Lyocell makes up the substrate of our bio-based overlays. 100% natural, bio-based, plant–based, biodegradable and regenerative. The regenerative cellulosic fibres are certified according to TUEV Austria OK Scheme for biodegradability in soil, water and marine environments.
✖In our application, this is the alternative to the industry-standard EVA or polyester, used in our internal reinforcement. Helps reduce our reliance on standard EVA and other plastics used for reinforcements.
✖GOTS Certified Organic Cotton emits 94% less greenhouse gases in production compared to conventional cotton.
✖Used as the substrate in our internal reinforcement, where polyester or nylon would typically be used. Durable. Strong. We are working towards making this organic.
✖Our alternative to solvent-based adhesives that are commonly used in the footwear industry.
✖We have adjusted the application of Tencel to a twill to ensure a greater degree of slip resistance. 100% biobased. Made using a closed-loop production process.
