By using natural materials and a circular approach to sustainability, we’re able to greatly reduce our carbon footprint. This doesn’t remove everything, however. That’s why we measure every bit of carbon we emit so that we can offset it to zero and beyond.
HOW WE CALCULATE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
Our carbon estimates are based on the emissions at every stage of a shoe’s life cycle. We focused solely on the Global Warming Potential (GWP) which was measured in kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) and does not include environmental impacts such as water or land use.
See our breakdown below.
END OF LIFE+0.23
With the help of our offsetting partner, we’re able to offset the carbon we produce beyond zero. This means we take out more carbon than we create, making us carbon negative.
Building the future
Today is just the start. We’ve made great strides for sustainability with the launch of Hylo V1, but we’re under no illusions. Tomorrow needs us to continually go above and beyond. To do this, we’ll be constantly investing in material and process innovation; pushing the possibilities of technology to actively reduce the amount of carbon in the world through the creation of our shoes.
