In our first made-to-order collaboration, Oxley applies his synonymous design to hylo’s classic LIGHT trainer - blending the minimalist application of the LIGHT with the striking pattern of Oxley.
“The pattern was inspired by a frustration towards the rigidity of tradition and rules - allowing for no room for self expression. Influenced from my time spent at Huntsman and Vivienne Westwood - I took the classic windowpane fabric, distorted the lines and cut it on the diagonal and was left with what is now the Oxley print. “In its deepest sense outdoor is a metaphor for your outer skin. Being unapologetically true to who you are and presenting your true self to the world. That is where you will be most happy. In a literal sense it means expressing yourself in the arena where you can feel most alive, when outside in the elements exercising, the blood is flowing, the noise is blocked out and you are in harmony with yourself.”
